The fight for life must be fought on several fronts

The year 2025 has been a busy one, with many battles beginning that herald just as many challenges for the year ahead. Bill 9 is one of the fronts on which we are focusing our efforts. This bill on “strengthening secularism,” introduced in the Quebec National Assembly on November 27th, 2025, threatens the pro-life activism we are currently carrying out in the public square, such as 40 Days for Life, Vigil 365, and the Life Chain, where prayer plays an important role.

We are therefore fighting this secularization of society, not only to defend our rights, but to defend there the place of God and for the salvation of this very society, which is clearly dying from a lack of faith.

To carry out this fight, we have launched a fundraising campaign with a goal of $25,000. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have been able to raise $20,115. Thank you very much if you have already donated. However, we are still $4,885 short of our goal. Will you help us reach it?

There is also Bill 1 on the Quebec constitution, tabled on October 9th, which would enshrine the “freedom to have an abortion” and secularism in Quebec's proposed constitution, as well as the inclusion of euthanasia in Quebec's Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, three elements to which we are opposed on principle and which we are resolutely fighting against.

It is strange to note that feminist groups have decided to fight against the inclusion of abortion in Quebec's constitution, because this, by some mysterious magic, would jeopardize the “right” to abortion. If they manage to make the Legault government back down, so much the better — we won't complain. (In the meantime, it's hilarious to watch!...)

Bill C-9, introduced in the Canadian Parliament on September 19, 2025, in addition to expanding the scope of the “hate speech” law, could be amended to include an amendment from the Bloc Québécois repealing the religious exception to said “hate speech.” According to this exception in the Criminal Code, a person expressing a religious opinion in good faith but which appears to incite hatred against a group could not be convicted.

One might argue that Christians do not need such an exception, but the courts have already abused the hate law, even despite the exception. Take the case of Christian activist Bill Whacott, who was convicted of “hate speech” for calling on homosexuals to repent. Not only did the court reject the distinction between sin and sinner, but it also saw hate speech where there was none and rejected Mr. Whatcott's good faith.

Proof that it is already possible to label proposals that some people dislike as “hate speech,” as the LGBT movement often does when it is criticized. But this would be even worse with the quasi-judicial bodies that C-9 intends to create, which will be held to a lower standard of rigor than ordinary courts and will apply the civil standard of preponderance of probability rather than the criminal standard in a case that nevertheless falls under the Criminal Code.

Other challenges lie ahead, such as organizing the next March for Life in Quebec City, despite the hostility (and hatred!) of pro-abortionists associated with Antifa. Or organizing our first Festi-Vie. All of this requires a considerable investment, and we invite you to give generously to cover the costs of such events.

We are making progress in spreading our message, of course through our emails, which we now send to 13,788 addresses (in French) and 13,511 (in English). Last year, at the same date, we sent 7,319 emails in French and 7,402 emails in English.

We are also making progress on social media, particularly Facebook. Following a change in approach that is better suited to the Facebook audience and algorithms (or somewhere in between), we have seen rapid growth, as shown in the following graph.

The graph in the center shows the “views” statistics.

The graph shows that during this 90-day period, we began to see a jump in the distribution of our content toward the end of September, around the time we launched our new approach. Even the “floor” of the last few days, on either side of the dizzying peak of over 400,000 “views,” is between 20k and 30k, which is significantly higher than the 5k in September before the start of this upheaval.

What does this mean in concrete terms? Firstly, that the debate is not dead, as pro-abortionists like to say, and secondly, that the 144k or so interactions contain, as you might have guessed, a lot of controversy (including comments from pro-abortionists who say that the debate is over, but who paradoxically prove by commenting on our posts that this is not the case). Furthermore, the fact that pro-lifers are publicly displaying their convictions encourages others to do the same, and this in an atmosphere that is not particularly favorable to pro-life discourse.

These results are the fruit of the joint efforts of Georges Buscemi and myself. We plan to improve these results by producing videos on a more regular basis. To do this, will you help us financially?

Thank you so much!
For the Vie,

Conferences tour

Quebec Life Coalition is launching a project to establish local groups (parishes, churches, student groups, etc.) of Quebec, to root a living commitment to faith, family and life. Several communities have already been visited recently, and these groups serve as a springboard for various initiatives: mobilization for the March for Life, prayer vigils, training in apologetics, support for pregnant women in distress, etc. Invite us to come and talk about it in your community: [email protected] ou 1-855-996-2686.

Say "no" to secularism: Quebec Prays and Canada Prays

Every Wednesday at 6 pm, Christians across Quebec are invited to gather in groups throughout the province to pray the Rosary publicly. We will not be driven from the public square like lepers!

To find a prayer group near you (they exist worldwide, including in English Canada), visit: https://public-rosary.org/

There are also Telegram groups: for Canada https://t.me/CanadaPrays, and for Quebec https://t.me/lequebecprie.

Vigil 365

The Vigil 365 is a prayer vigil where, every day for one or two hours, pro-lifers pray in a public place at a certain distance from an abortuary for the end of abortion.
