In Quebec right now, there is endless talk about Bill 2, a government bill aimed at reforming the Quebec healthcare system, particularly the way doctors are paid. Protests are multiplying and recriminations are rising. Except that this bill, which certainly has its flaws and surely some merits, is not the one that should really capture our attention. Because an even more fundamental bill has also been proposed recently: Bill 1, better known as the “Quebec Constitution.”
It is normal for a distinctive people such as the Quebecois to have a written constitution. The problem is that this constitution threatens the future of that very nation in several ways.
- This bill affirms the “freedom” to abort, thereby enshrining the killing of unborn children among Quebec's fundamental values! Not only it is a moral injustice of the highest order to put to death a human being innocent of any crime, but by including abortion as a fundamental “freedom,” Quebec is condoning its own demographic decline — a curious move for a nation built on families of 12, 15, 20 children, which today has a pathetic fertility rate of around 1.33 children per woman.
- This bill affirms the right to euthanasia, which, in a similar way to abortion, gives to the so-called doctor the power to kill an innocent human being as part of his “medical” duties. These practices distort medicine and transform it into a service of death for the benefit of a mercantile and utilitarian view of life, which sees value in life only if it provides enjoyment or profit for oneself or others.
- This bill asserts that Quebec, built on the foundation of Christ as evidenced by the multitude of saints who carried the torch of faith in New France, is now “secular.” This means that the state rejects the light of Christ and does not recognize his kingship, but places him on the same level as all other religions or ideologies — except atheism, which, under the guise of “neutrality,” takes control and threatens (through the government report known as “Pelchat-Rousseau”) to eliminate all public assistance to churches and religious schools, while indirectly threatening Christian families by alleging a so-called “right to secularism” for students.
To date, at the call of Quebec Life Coalition, nearly 600 communications (emails, calls) against Bill 1 have been sent to Quebec legislators through our message delivery service. If you haven't already done so, and if you are a resident of Quebec, you can take the opportunity to use our tool for communicating with legislators here:

In addition, the Quebec government has decided to conduct a study of Bill 1, with the possibility of citizen contributions. We therefore strongly encourage you to fill out the public consultation form:

The mobilization of people of good will is important, as evidenced by the absence in the federal budget of recommendations 429 and 430 of the Finance Committee, which advocated the withdrawal of charitable status from religious and pro-life organizations. The government backed down in the face of the outcry these proposals provoked.
The fight for life continues.
Sincerely,
The Quebec Life Coalition team

Conferences tour
Quebec Life Coalition is launching a project to establish local groups (parishes, churches, student groups, etc.) of Quebec, to root a living commitment to faith, family and life. Several communities have already been visited recently, and these groups serve as a springboard for various initiatives: mobilization for the March for Life, prayer vigils, training in apologetics, support for pregnant women in distress, etc. Invite us to come and talk about it in your community: [email protected] ou 1-855-996-2686.
Say "no" to secularism: Quebec Prays and Canada Prays
Every Wednesday at 6 pm, Christians across Quebec are invited to gather in groups throughout the province to pray the Rosary publicly. We will not be driven from the public square like lepers!
To find a prayer group near you (they exist worldwide, including in English Canada), visit: https://public-rosary.org/
There are also Telegram groups: for Canada https://t.me/CanadaPrays, and for Quebec https://t.me/lequebecprie.
Vigil 365
The Vigil 365 is a prayer vigil where, every day for one or two hours, pro-lifers pray in a public place at a certain distance from an abortuary for the end of abortion.
