This year's National March for Life in Ottawa was a resounding success, with thousands of Canadians marching to protect unborn children and vulnerable people.

Several speakers addressed the crowd during the march, including Aleš Primc from Slovenia, a member of the Movement for Children & Families, who has campaigned in his country against the legalization of euthanasia.

Rebecca Kiessling, who was conceived as a result of rape and is an abortion survivor, encouraged the marchers to be 100% pro-life and to also defend unborn children conceived as a result of rape, because these children are not guilty of their genitor’s crime and therefore do not deserve the death penalty.

Let me pause for a moment here and ask you: would you like us to organize a March for Life as beautiful as the one in Ottawa? Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Quebec City March for Life, which was scheduled for May 30th, due to a lack of resources for our small team — a team that, among other things, was heavily involved in the Ottawa march. To hold such a march next year, we need your financial support and your participation.

Benjamin Turland spoke about his painful experience when both of his grandmothers requested euthanasia within a span of just two months. These tragic events led him to wonder: did they feel like a burden to their loved ones, did they feel unloved? He encouraged the march participants to talk to their loved ones to tell them how much they are loved and how much they mean to them. Because once a person has chosen euthanasia, it is often too late to change their mind.

Georges Buscemi, president of Quebec Life Coalition and vice president of Campaign Life Coalition, gives the starting signal for the march.
Several women from the Silent No More group took the stage at the march to share their stories, expressing regret over having aborted their unborn children.

Rose Dinner
That evening, following the march, the traditional Rose Dinner took place, bringing together pro-life activists from across Canada.

Mr. Buscemi served as master of ceremonies for the banquet.
The Rose Dinner provided an opportunity for Aleš Primc to speak about the strategy he adopted to swing the 2025 referendum on euthanasia in Slovenia toward a “No” vote. He explained that he never used the vocabulary of euthanasia advocates so as not to convey their ideas. Instead, he adopted a term heavily laden with negative connotations to describe what the opposing camp was promoting and referred to euthanasia as “poison”, forcing the enemy to use that vocabulary, at least to deny that their intentions were to “poison the sick and the elderly”.
This referendum, which polls had predicted would be won by the “Yes” camp with 70% of the vote, was won by the “No” camp with 53%. Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, a Canadian organization, participated in the efforts of euthanasia opponents in Slovenia, contributing with his expertise on euthanasia in Canada.

Once again, I am appealing to your generosity and asking for your help so that we can hold a traditional March for Life next year in Quebec City.
With warm thanks,
Augustin Hamilton
