Every so often in the life of an organization, something happens that reveals—far more clearly than we ever could—whether the mission is gaining ground.
This week, Quebec Life Coalition (QLC) lived such a moment.
On December 9, the Fédération Québécoise pour le Planning des Naissances (FPQN -- essentially Planned Parenthood Quebec) released a 114-page, government-funded analysis of the pro-life movement in Quebec, titled:
"Quand le consensus vacille" — When the consensus wavers. And by "consensus" they mean the so-called pro-abortion consensus in Quebec.
When I saw the title, I knew we were in for something remarkable.
When I scanned the report, I realized: this is perhaps the single most significant external validation of QLC's effectiveness since our founding.
I want to share the contents of this report with you, because it is support from people like you that made these results possible.
As we take in what this report reveals, we are in the midst of our December fundraiser: we need to raise $11,569 in the next 12 days to meet our $25,000 objective. If you’ve already given, thank you. If not, please consider giving today.
A six-figure study… about us?
Based on comparable provincial research budgets, a report of this scope, methodology, and length would cost the government between $120,000 and $140,000 to produce.
Think about that.
A major publicly funded project—interviews, field observations, focus groups, digital analysis, community mapping—conducted not on the health care system, not on education, not on public safety…
…but on Quebec Life Coalition and the Quebec pro-life movement.
Why would the government spend that much?
Because, as the authors themselves admit:
Something is shifting in Quebec. The consensus is wavering.
And QLC is at the center of that shift.
This kind of scrutiny doesn’t happen to organizations that are irrelevant. It happens when an entrenched establishment begins to feel the ground move beneath its feet. Help us continue spreading a Culture of Life in Quebec with even greater resolve. Please give today.
What the report says we’re doing “right”
The FQPN did not intend this report as a compliment. But for supporters like you, it reads like a blueprint of why QLC is becoming so effective.
Here are the elements they highlight:
1. QLC is expanding across Quebec—successfully.
They document our new regional presence, including our Sherbrooke base, and note that pro-life activity in Quebec multiplied and become more visible, coordinated, and persistent.
This is remarkable because it confirms that our grassroots, local-first strategy is working.
You can help this growth take root.
2. QLC is driving public mobilization: “30 Life Chains” and counting.
The report lists, with evident concern, that:
“11 Life Chains in 2023, 19 in 2024, 30 in 2025.”
They recognize this for what it is: momentum.
You can help this momentum increase.
3. QLC launched the Quebec March for Life—and it is reshaping the landscape.
They devote several lines to the March for Life, calling it:
“A noteworthy new development… increasing the movement’s visibility… reinforcing local networks… and placing these actions within an international dynamic.” (translation)
This is extraordinary praise coming from pro-abortion researchers.
According to them, the March is now a catalyst for activism in Quebec.
You can help this movement advance.
4. QLC's messaging is sophisticated, adaptive, and effective.
This, for me, is the strongest confirmation.
The report repeatedly warns that QLC has mastered:
- compassionate, flexible framing
- scientific and rights-based language
- strategic digital communication
- demographic and cultural arguments
- women-centered narratives
- rapid adaptation to news cycles
In short, we are reaching the middle 37% of Quebecers who hold what they call "moderate" views on abortion—precisely the group the establishment fears losing.
You can help this message reach further.
5. QLC is effectively integrated with Campaign Life Coalition—creating national-level leverage.
They note with concern the formal union of QLC and Campaign Life Coalition, describing it as strengthening:
“the movement’s ability to operate effectively in Quebec… strengthened by hiring new personnel and sharing informational resources.”
Translation:
Our partnership with other groups is powerful, structured, and producing tangible gains.
You can help our partnerships thrive.
6. QLC is influencing the cultural sphere—churches included.
Very recently, a woman posted on our Facebook page saying:
“In 20 years working in Catholic parishes, abortion was never spoken about. Now, external groups are speaking during Mass… Something is happening.”
This confirms the report’s observation that pro-life discourse is emerging in places where it was previously unthinkable.
And it confirms that our cultural presence is rising faster than our opponents anticipated.
You can help this influence spread.
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win…”
For years, CQV was ignored.
Then mocked.
Now?
Now, the province’s top pro-abortion organization has produced a 114-page document urging the government to fight us—to reduce our reach, silence our influence, and constrain our growth.
This is the surest sign we have entered the decisive phase.
They have vast financial and institutional resources.
But they lack one thing, which we have and want to share:
Truth.
And if they accepted the truth about the existence of a loving God and the dignity of human life, they would no longer oppose us, and the province would be better off for it.
You can help us share the truth about faith, life and family.
The year ahead might very well be the hardest and most important in CQV’s history
After this report, the government and its allies, if they persist in their pro-abort and ultimately self-destructive ways, will follow the report's recommendations and attack us on many fronts:
- They will attempt to block legislative debate.
- They will try to restrict or regulate pregnancy help centers.
- They will pressure institutions, especially schools, churches and other charitable organisations, to avoid any association with us.
- They will demand public funding to counter our messaging.
- They will amplify hostility in the media.
And through all this, QLC must not retreat.
We must advance.
But to do so, we need the commitment of those who understand that Quebec is at a cultural tipping point—and that the decisions we make and the actions we take in the next 12 months could shape this key province, and by extension all of Canada, for a generation.
You are essential to that mission.
Everything in this report, every sign of progress, every gain, every shift in discourse, comes directly from the generosity of people like you who believe that a pro-life Canada needs a pro-life Quebec, and that Quebec is worth fighting for.
Today, I ask you to help us meet with determination the challenge of this new phase:

Your support builds the infrastructure our opponents fear and fuels the message they can't counter.
More than ever, Quebec needs a courageous, principled, organized movement speaking the truth about faith, family and life.

For Life,

Georges Buscemi
President, Quebec Life Coalition
P.S. We have just 12 days left to raise the final $11,569 before our December fundraiser ends on Christmas Eve. So far, nearly 100 generous people have stepped forward. That’s wonderful—but it’s only a tiny fraction of the more than 25,000 people who are receiving this email.
If you’ve already given—thank you!
If not, please step forward by giving today. Be counted among those who “put their money where their convictions are.”
As Our Lord said: “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” — Matthew 6:21
