After weeks of intense lobbying, the fight against Bill C-9 has reached a critical stage.
The House of Commons has passed this dangerous bill. It is now in the hands of the Senate.
It's time to take to the streets and make our voices heard.
On Friday, May 1st, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Campagne Québec-Vie, in partnership with the National Campaign Life Coalition, is organizing nationwide demonstrations in front of the constituency offices of Liberal MPs across Canada and Bloc Québécois MPs in Quebec.
We are calling on all people of faith and all defenders of freedom of expression to join us, peacefully, prayerfully, and visibly, to defend the Holy Bible, protect our religious freedom, and stop this bill from becoming law.
You may be wondering: why protest outside MPs' offices when it's the Senate that will vote next?
Here is the strategic reality: 81 of the 98 sitting senators were hand-picked by Justin Trudeau. They owe their positions, and their $192,700 salaries, to the Liberal Party. And make no mistake: the Bloc Québécois bears direct responsibility for C-9 reaching the Senate. When the Liberals were in a minority position, it was the Bloc that joined them to push this bill through the House of Commons. The Liberals are no longer in a minority, but that does not erase the Bloc's role, and their MPs must be held accountable.
Even though these senators now call themselves "independent," they remain ideologically aligned with the Liberals. That means Prime Minister Mark Carney still exerts real influence over them.
By showing up in large numbers at the local offices of Liberal and Bloc MPs, we are sending a message that could not be clearer: if you let this bill pass, believers will hold the entire Liberal Party, and the Bloc Québécois in Quebec, accountable at the ballot box.
We hope that enough Liberal MPs will feel the pressure, contact Carney, and urge the Senate to reject or bury Bill C-9.
This is how we turn prayer into action, and pressure into results.
Do you want to take part in this historic stand?
Here are two simple ways to get involved:
Join as a demonstrator — Come for even just one hour, hold a sign, and pray alongside fellow believers in front of your local Liberal or Bloc MP's office.
Become a volunteer demonstration leader — Help coordinate the event in your riding so that CLC can provide you with signs, materials, and promotional support. (No experience required, just a willingness to step up.)
