Canada’s rapid expansion of euthanasia has brought us down a dark path, where the value of human life is increasingly defined by perceived “quality” rather than inherent dignity. What began as an exception for those facing imminent death has grown into a system that is now about to extend to people with mental disabilities, revealing how quickly safeguards can erode. Vulnerable individuals are increasingly being placed at risk precisely when they most need protection and support. Far from being an act of compassion, euthanasia for mental illness is becoming a substitute for real care, connection, and community responsibility. We invite you to join us for an important conversation about where we are on this path and why this path is dangerous, and what we can do to reverse it.
