Young adults less likely to have children than previous generations
A recent Pew Research Institute study of the American population reveals that young people in their twenties and thirties are less inclined to have children than in previous decades. So, “The total number of children that women and men ages 20 to 39 planned to have, on average, dropped from 2.3 in 2012 to 1.8 in 2023. Those numbers remained stable from 2002 to 2012”, writes the institute. Of the various reasons given for this lack of inclination to have children, the economic one dominates, and the remedies suggested by those questioned focus mainly on the monetary factor. Money is certainly not an insignificant factor in the plan to start a family, but it is not everything. We only have to look at Russia, where the government is trying, apparently without much success, to reverse the decline in the birth rate by providing aid to families, or Hungary, which has increased the number of tax benefits for families, but is not having great success.
So what's the problem? And what is the solution? The answer to this question also concerns Quebec, which, despite its special characteristics, is also suffering from a serious decline in its natural demography - just like the rest of the West, in fact. It should be noted that at the beginning of the last century, when Quebec had so many children, living conditions were much harsher than they are now, and this did not prevent families from having up to a dozen children or more. It's true that children were seen as a help from an early age. Could the slow decline in Quebec's birth rate over the last century, before reaching today's lows, be partly due to the loss of this “necessity” in a society whose social supports have multiplied to the point we know today? Perhaps in part.
The Quiet Revolution, with its train of moral decadence, certainly dealt a terrible blow to the Quebec birth rate, and I don't think it would be too much to recommend teaching the younger generations to the benefits of the Christian morality that was the framework of the French-Canadian family, teaching them to love their ancestors and the heritage they left them, and educating them about the principles of natural law. A cultural and religious revival is undoubtedly necessary before we can hope for any kind of natal turnaround. Shame on the current government, which is indoctrinating children more to change "gender" than to start a real family!...

Saint John the Baptist, a model of courage and truth
I hope you had a merry St John's Day with your family and friends. St. John the Baptist is particularly celebrated in Quebec because St. Pius X gave him to the French Canadians as their patron saint. Surely, St. Pius X's gift of such a guide was priceless. May Saint John the Baptist, forerunner of Christ, give us the courage to speak the truth at all times and in all places and to defend the family with fervour, as he died a martyr for defending the sanctity of marriage.
A recent report published by Liberty Counsel Action estimates that around 40 tonnes of remains of aborted foetuses and abortifacients end up in American water every year. When a woman takes the "abortion pill" (which is in two parts), she flushes her aborted baby down the toilet. But wastewater filtration systems are not designed to deal with chemicals such as mifepristone or misoprostol, which are used in the abortion pill. This chemical waste is probably to have an effect on the fertility of people who drink city water. This is a source of pollution in addition to that from hormonal contraception, which also ends up in the sewage system. The abortion pill is an increasingly common method of abortion.
On a positive note, Quebec Public Security Minister François Bonnardel has announced that inmates of provincial prisons will be imprisoned in male or female facilities according to their "anatomical sex". However, transgender people who have undergone vaginoplasty (how horrible!), and are therefore castrated, will be incarcerated in women's prisons. It's a much better situation, nevertheless, than the previous one, where men claiming to be women could be locked up with women while retaining all their male attributes.

Who is against "choice"?
One might have thought (in theory, at least) that the most zealous supporters of "choice" (i.e. abortion) would be the most ardent defenders of all choices, including those they don't like. Unfortunately, such a coherent mindset does not seem to be found among activists of the type motivated enough to take to the streets to prevent a peaceful pro-life demonstration (the enemies of “choice”), thereby denying their opponents the choice to criticise abortion freely. They are not the ones we will see coming up to us to put their hand on our shoulder and say "I support your choice, whatever it is!" This call for universal "choice" is in fact just a pretext for defending an indefensible practice: abortion. Or perhaps it's because they themselves recognise that not all choices are legitimate, in which case...
We pro-lifers agree that women have the choice of whether or not to have children, but we differ on the moment of that choice. The choice to have children should be made before conception, not after!

Indeed, there is a choice to be made, carefully and freely. However, what pro-abortionists are really calling for is for sexuality to be without responsability and to be able to reject the consequences of their actions. It's a strange world where pleasure takes precedence over respect for life...
I was talking about the choice to freely express one's opposition to abortion. It's one thing for a bunch of inconsistent hooligans to try to bully this choice, but for the authorities to remain almost passive in the face of such behaviour crosses the line. It is absurd that the authorities did nothing to guarantee the security of our banquet at the Delta hotel, which had to be cancelled because of threats from supporters of the "choice".
This is why we will be calling on the authorities about their passive attitude so that we can receive protection equal to that guaranteed to other citizens. Otherwise, the freedom of expression that our society prides itself on is nothing but a dead letter.

An epic march for life
It was an epic march!
This year, once again, we held the Quebec City March for Life despite all the obstacles that were thrown in our path and despite the rain.

Around 600 to 700 pro-lifers answered the call from Quebec Life Campaign and marched for the lives of unborn children through the streets of Quebec City on May 31th 2025.

The theme of the march was "Every human being has the right to life". This is a quote from the Quebec Charter, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Media once again unleash their malice against pro-life legislations
You may have read some strange headlines recently, such as the one TVA Nouvelles recently produced: "Even dead, a pregnant woman must stay plugged in because of Georgia's abortion laws". The headline refers to a pregnant woman who has been declared ‘brain dead’ and whose bodily functions are being maintained, if the headline is to be believed, so that the baby her body is carrying can be born, under an abortion law. I'll come back to this absurd idea of the "living corpse" a little later.
Why am I talking about this case? Because it shows several facets of the anti-culture of death in which we live.
The first is the malice of the media reporting on this case. If the woman in question, Adriana Smith, is really dead, how is it wrong to keep her body until a new life is born? It is true that the media approach the case mainly from the point of view of the grandmother, who expresses her discomfort at the fact that the decision regarding her daughter's body is not in the family's hands, but who nevertheless states, as reported elsewhere, that she wants the baby to be born. This incomprehensible media attitude can only be explained by the desire of the mainstream media to strike on pro-life laws on the slightest pretext.
But their impertinence doesn't stop there, because it turns out that it's not because of the "heartbeat" law that bans most abortions from 6 weeks in Georgia that Mrs Smith remains on life support, but because of the Advance Health Care Directives Act, passed in 2007 when Roe v. Wade was still in place, a law which prescribes that a pregnant woman in such a case must remain on life support unless the baby she is carrying is not yet considered "viable" and she has written an advance directive – which is not the case.
The problem with the concept of "brain death" is that it means that a person whose brain functions have ceased, but whose body is otherwise very much alive, is considered to be "dead". Which is absurd, because as we can see here, a woman can carry her unborn child – which is impossible with a corpse... As you no doubt know, organs are removed from people who are ‘brain dead’ if they have previously agreed to be "donors" – in some countries, people are automatically considered to be "donors" unless they have expressly indicated that they do not wish to be... The other problem is that the latest American Academy of Neurology guideline on "brain death" allows it to be declared, even if brain waves can still be detected in the person or the part of his brain called the hypothalamus is still functional – effectively violating the Uniform Determination of Death Act!
The irony is that the fact that Mrs Smith is being kept on life support because of her pregnancy may save her life – there are several cases of people declared "brain dead" who have woken up.
If only medias would admit that Mrs Smith is not dead, they would have one more (admittedly spurious) argument in their arsenal. Keeping a pregnant woman in a coma plugged in against her previously expressed wishes would be tantamount to restricting her "choice". This is not about to happen, however, because to do so they would have to reject the notion of "brain death", which holds that a person is no longer a person when they lose their rational functions, an idea that is a corollary of the one that holds that a person only begins to exist when they begin to have functional rational capacities. As you will have realised, to reject the one would be to abjure the other; to recognise the humanity of people in a state of "brain death" would be tantamount to admitting the humanity of unborn children in their earliest stages.
Both ends of life are threatened by the anti-culture of death. That's why I invite you to join us on Saturday May 31th, for those of you who live close enough, in front of the Quebec National Assembly for the 2nd Quebec City March for Life. Join us in defending the lives of the unborn and the vulnerable!
For Life,
Augustin Hamilton

A great March for life
Judges are often the driving force behind changes in the law, as witness the Morgentaler ruling that created a legal vacuum around abortion in Canada, or the Carter ruling that decriminalised euthanasia. More recently, the Quebec Superior Court ruled that a child could have more than two parents (and what parents!), or rather, let's re-establish perspective, that more than two people could be "parents" of the same child, because it is adults who are claiming this right, not children.
Did you know that in 3 years the use of the abortion pill has doubled in Quebec, making it easier to kill unborn children? This ease of use may have a greater cost than some people think. A recent study shows that more than 10% of women taking the pill suffer serious side-effects within 45 days.
In the face of the anti-culture of death, join us tomorrow, Thursday May 8th, at the National March for Life in Ottawa!
Organised by Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) and promoted by Quebec Life Coalition (QLC), this event is a commemoration of the sad day when abortion was first legalised in Canada (before the current legal vacuum), and a demonstration of respect for life from conception to natural death. It's also an opportunity to meet and network with fervent pro-lifers from across Canada. You can watch the march live on EWTN.
The National March for Life is accompanied by many events. Today was the CLC's press conference, which was attended by a number of media, including the Coop de l'information (Quebec medias), CTV, The Hills and a French-language media outlet. See the photos below.

Urgent Petition Nearing 1,000 Signatures + Our Action at the UN
This week, two major battles require our urgent mobilization. Your engagement is crucial.
1. Urgent Petition: We’re Approaching 1,000 Signatures!
The threat is real: The federal government is considering removing charitable status from churches and Christian organizations, imposing a 100% revocation tax, seizing their assets, and attempting to erase Christianity from Canada.
And it’s not just us raising the alarm—none other than Cardinal Leo of the Archdiocese of Toronto recently published a letter condemning these very plans and urging the federal government to reverse course.
We must act now! If you haven’t already, please sign and share our urgent petition, which will be delivered to the next Prime Minister.
Every signature counts. Every share makes a difference. Let’s make our voices heard!
2. At the UN: Fighting the Pro-Abortion and Pro-LGBT Agenda
Next week marks the beginning of the annual conference of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)—a major event where international recommendations are shaped.
Our allies at CitizenGo recently summarized the four key priorities of pro-abortion and LGBT lobbies at the UN:
-
Declaring abortion a “human right”—to prevent pro-life nations from opposing it.
-
Blackmailing countries by conditioning foreign aid on the legalization of abortion.
-
Erasing conscience rights by forcing doctors, hospitals, and religious organizations to comply.
- Promoting gender ideology, so the UN can pressure governments to allow gender transitions—even for children.
And they are absolutely right! The UN, under the influence of these powerful lobbies, pushes these radical ideas year after year through resolutions and international summits.
Why is this important?
The CSW seeks to adopt a final document that, while not immediately binding, influences national policies over time. What is voted on at the UN today becomes tomorrow’s law in Canada.
We Will Be There to Make a Stand
My colleague Arpad Nagy and a dedicated Quebecer, Annick, will be attending to represent pro-life and pro-family voices from Quebec. Additionally, our friends at the National Coalition for Life will be there in force with nearly a dozen pro-life advocates to challenge this destructive agenda.
Let us pray for them and stay engaged!
How You Can Help
✅ Sign the petition to protect Christianity in Canada.
✅ Share this call to action with your family and friends.
✅ Support our efforts at the UN and beyond—your donation helps us continue this critical fight.
Every action counts. Together, we can push back against this culture of death and confusion.

God bless,

Georges Buscemi

Good international news for Life And Family -- and an invitation
This week, I had the honour of participating along with PPC leader Maxime Bernier and others in ThéoVox, a rapidly growing Christian, pro-life, and pro-family alternative news channel in Quebec. During the broadcast, I discussed the significant advances made south of the border for the defence of life and family in the first weeks of the Trump administration. (Click here to see this French-language show)
That discussion and my further research led me to write an article about a major but still underreported U.S. initiative: the defunding of USAID and NED—two government agencies with a combined annual budget of approximately $40 billion. While officially created to assist poor and vulnerable populations abroad, these agencies have in reality become regime-change machines designed to overthrow conservative governments and impose woke liberal regimes worldwide. You can read my full article HERE.
I will also be returning to Theovox this Thursday evening, and there’s an exciting new development: Theovox is now allowing the public to attend live broadcasts in person! If you are in the Mont-Saint-Hilaire area (just outside of Montreal), I invite you to join me at the show in person. Doors open until 7:00 PM, and the show begins promptly at 7:30 PM. If you’d like to attend, simply reply to this email with your name and phone number.
Meanwhile, as many countries continue using their foreign policy to push pro-abortion, radical feminist, and LGBT ideology, our colleague Arpad was in Ottawa this week to support Campaign Life Coalition’s event condemning “ideological colonization.” Featured speakers included:
- David Mulroney, former Canadian ambassador to China, and
- Obianuju Ekeocha, a leading African pro-life advocate exposing foreign interference in Africa.

QLC activist Arpad Nagy at the centre, flanked by Obianuju Ekeocha (left) and David Mulroney.
Arpad also attended the Annual Religious Freedom Conference, another key event in the fight for faith and family.

While this important work continues, my colleague Brian Jenkins remains dedicated to helping pregnant women in crisis. I ask for your prayers for Désirée, a mother 20 weeks pregnant, who is going through a very difficult time. May God grant her peace and serenity as she approaches her delivery.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do, in big and small ways, to uphold faith, family, and life from conception to natural death. May God bless you abundantly!

For Life,

Georges Buscemi
President, Quebec Life Coalition
Happy New Year 2025!
Happy and holy year 2025!
After 2024, a year full of milestones, we are now entering 2025, a year full of promises and challenges.
We thank you for all the support you gave us in 2024, and we hope to work even more closely with you in 2025, with the help of God, without whom all work is in vain.
That's why we need to ask Him, as in the beautiful traditional hymn we sing today, ‘’Dear God, bless the New Year‘’.
With all our best wishes,
Augustin Hamilton
P.S. We'll be back at work on January 6th, 2025.
Here are some of our articles among the best and the most popular, and about events from 2024:

Open letter to Premier Legault
We Quebecers are getting ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus-Christ, the Saviour of the world, Emmanuel, 'God with us' ... and it is during this Advent season that you have the absurd idea of saying that you are going to concoct a law to prevent us from praying in public?"

A wonderful March for Life!
What a splendid day! What a magnificent march! More than a thousand pro-lifers gathered in Quebec City on June 1st under a shining sun to demonstrate in the name of the unborn child. And all this despite the hostility and incivility of the pro-abortion counter-demonstrators...

Thousands of Canadians protest against LGBT indoctrination in schools
On September 20th, 2024, thousands of citizens in more than 50 cities across Canada demonstrated against the indoctrination of LGBT ideology in schools.
Merry Christmas 2024!
On behalf of the entire Quebec Life Coalition team, I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas on the feast of the Nativity of Christ!

May the joy and peace of the Christ Child be with you during the Christmas time.

I'd like to give you some news about our petition against the ban on public prayer in Quebec. We currently have around 10,000 signatures, and it would be great if we could go even further.
After threatening to ban public prayer on the pretext that "Islamists" were praying in the street, François Legault seems to have put a little water in his wine, having told a commentator that he was thinking of requiring permission for religious events to be held in public, so that they could be managed. Is this change in tone due to the many reactions that followed Mr Legault's inflammatory remarks? We have to keep telling Mr Legault that we are not prepared to let him walk all over us.
After all, how far would secularism go if we let it go ahead, removing the cross from Mount Royal or the cross from the Quebec flag?
Did you know that J. D. Vance, the future vice-president of the United States, expressed his support on X for a petition by Ontario MP Jamil Jivani calling for respect for the rights of Christians? This means that we can eventually count on powerful allies south of the border to ensure that our rights are respected.
Once again wishing you a Merry Christmas!
Augustin Hamilton
P.S. We'll be on holiday until January 5th, 2025.
