Can you pray and watch for one hour?
We're 10 days away from the end of our Fall 2024 fundraising campaign, and we've managed to raise close to 50% of our total. Thank you to everyone who donated. We need your help to continue defending faith, family and life, from conception to natural death. Thank you for your prayers and financial support.
I wanted to send you this quick email to remind you that the Life Chain will be held this Sunday, October 6, at the locations and times (normally 2pm-3pm) listed on our website.
There's nothing simpler, and more meaningful and effective, than the Life Chain to show that we don't agree with abortion, and that we're standing up to say “no” to the killing of unborn children. This October 6, thousands of pro-lifers all over North America and beyond will stand on the streets of their city, town, village, neighborhood, to pray for an hour, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm (there are exceptions, please check your local Chain) with signs to clearly show their disagreement with abortion.

To date, we have a good 20 locations in Quebec, a big improvement on last year, when we had 11. Nevertheless, our goal for this year is 33 locations. So I strongly encourage you, if you don't have a Life Chain in your area, to sign up as a chain leader (by writing to us at [email protected] or simply by replying to this e-mail). We'll do everything we can to recruit other pro-lifers to join you.
Don't let the relative simplicity of this initiative make you think it won't be effective. On the contrary, this very simplicity is its strength: what could be easier than to put ourselves in prayer, for an hour of “vigil”, for the unborn children killed by the tens of thousands (100,000 in all in Canada) in our so-called “civilized” country? When the time comes to give an account to our Creator, don't let him say that “you couldn't watch for one hour”!
So watch, just one hour, for the unborn this Sunday, October 6, 2024. If you can't start a chain near you (by contacting us), you can join one already organized. The list of chains is here.
The 23 locations (to date) of the 2024 Life Chain -- our goal for this year is 33!
Please consider starting a Chain in your community by replying to this email. We'll provide you with all the signs you need, and we'll try to contact pro-lifers near you to join you. All you have to do is reply today. If, however, you can't start a new chain, please join an existing one on Sunday, October 6.
Actions like the Life Chain are only possible thanks to your participation and donations. We need your continued support to keep organizing and to keep growing the number of chains in Quebec. We set a goal of $12,000 for our fall fundraising campaign, and so far we've raised $5,573. With just under two weeks to go, we still have $6,427 to raise. Every dollar you give helps us fight for faith, family and life, from conception to natural death.
Thank you for your generosity and your prayers.
In Jesus Christ,

Yesterday pro-lifers across North America held Life Chain demonstrations, where for one hour groups ranging from 5 to 50 prayed in a public place for an end to abortion while holding signs saying "Jesus forgives and heals", "Abortion Kills Children" and "Adoption: A loving option".
Hundreds of demonstrations were held all over Canada; and for the first time, Quebec held demonstrations outside of Quebec City and Montreal, spreading out in 11 locations: 3 in downtown Montreal, 2 in Sherbrooke, and one in each of the following locations: Pointe-Claire (West Island of Montreal), Quebec City, Lévis (south of Quebec City), Drummondville, Rawdon, and Sainte-Marcelyne-de-Kildare.

All in all, a great day for Life in Canada. And I'm glad to say that Quebec played its part, and we've only begun !
Our vital autumn 2023 fundraising campaign is now going strong. You know that we can only do our job with your support!
Our target is $12,000. I hope you can help us reach it by the end of our campaign on 18 October.

P.S. Please donate today, if you can. We greatly need your support to continue working in Quebec for faith, family and life, from conception to natural death.
Life Chain organized in Montreal without opposition this year

On Sunday afternoon, October 2nd, Quebec Life Coalition organized an annual event called the Life Chain.
Each year, on the first Sunday of October, pro-life activists gather to form anti-abortion prayer chains in Canada and the United States. Their goal is to share a message in support of the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death. In Montreal, the Life Chain has been organized since 1991, while in the United States it began in 1987. In 1990, Campaign Life Coalition began this activity in Canada.
Sunday's demonstration in Montreal took place near the Namur metro station, at the corner of Décarie Boulevard and Jean-Talon Street. On that sunny day, the group numbered about 20 people, both men and women, holding signs with messages in French and English such as:
- "Abortion kills children"
- "Yes to adoption"
- "Jesus forgives and heals"
- "Pray for an end to abortion"
